Anthony Thomas Mulherin, III
Tybee Island-Anthony Thomas Mulherin, III, affectionately known to his family and friends as Tony, or "Hiawatha" passed on Saturday, March 7, 2009. He was 51 years old.
On October 21, 1957, Tony was born in Savannah, GA and remained a resident of Tybee Island for the last twenty years.
Tony held dearest to his heart and had great enthusiasm for his family and friends. He seemed to always know the right things to share with us and how to bring a smile to our faces and joy to our hearts. He enjoyed beach living and was quite the perfectionist in his work as a hanger of wall paper and most recently, interior/exterior painter. He was an avid lover of music, water sports, auto racing, fishing and animals.
He is survived by his wife Lee C. Mulherin; mother, Bettye G. Allen M. Zaffiro; father, Anthony T. Mulherin, Jr.; sisters, Dana M. R. Reid Lutz and Sharon F. Zaffiro; brothers, Clay C. Dawn H. Zaffiro and Scott H. Sharon D. Zaffiro; sons David and Brian Mulherin and Steven, Dustin and Matthew Arnsdorff; daughter, Tara M. Tony Bridges; grandchildren, Taylor Mulherin, Landon and Kaylie Bridges; nieces Lauren J. Lutz, Karah D. Zaffiro, Mikyla M. Zaffiro and nephews, Joshua A. Fulmer and Scott H. Zaffiro, Jr.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 with a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Islands Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Wilmington Island United Methodist Church, 195 Wilmington Island Rd. Savannah, GA 31410 912 897-2835, or to Coastal Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 30462 Savannah, GA 31410 912 228-3538.

I first met Tony at Culver Rug Company back in 2002. Tony would come in often to pick up wallpaper for his next job and visit with us for a while. He always seemed to have a story to share. Tony was a kind person - I will miss his visits to the showroom.
